You haven't lived fully

if you have never smelled autumn

before winter sets in ...

The scents of the colorful leaves

decaying on the ground,

the sweet perfume of the last ripe apples

dangling in the trees,

the appetizing aroma of a huge cauldron

of vegetable soup simmering on the wood stove,

the old-time fragrance of squashes

roasting in the oven


the strange but insistent odor

of cold rain ...

Autumn has a nice

yellow and ochre and red

colored scent ...
