MY LITTLE GEORGIA O'KEEFE SIDE ...

I love bones and skulls ...

I consider them to be the equivalent of seashells

when you live in the forest away from the ocean.

I walked in the fields and in the wood for 3 hours yesterday,

hunting for nature's oddities.

Jackpot !

I found 3 deer skulls,

bleached by the time and so beautiful !

I have been collecting skulls and bones of all sorts for about 20 years now,

have boxes full of them, all cleaned up and identified.

There is a sort of perfection

in their design and purity of lines

that I just love.

I need to spend some times in the desert again soon,

maybe Arizona or Mexico and go hunt for my favorite treasures...

Your bones look awesome. They would be fun to paint on. Oooh how great that would be. Hi Lulu, hope you are doing well. Just popped in to say hi and have a great Tuesday and rest of the week.

I like bones, too. I guess that's why I make so many skellies! ;) Those are beautiful. I find antlers now and then, but I haven't found any skulls lately. xox Pam

Love your skulls. My advise is to go bone hunting in AZ or Southern New Mexico or far west TX. Northern Mexico is just a bit too dangerous for anyone right now. I don't know if you've heard about all the killings just right across the border from El Paso, where I live, but Juarez is exploding with drug wars dominance. It's become an extremely violent place to visit...best to do your desert searches on this side of the border.

I love fossils and there are many out here. A friend of ours is a pot shard lover and he took us to a place not far from here to get pot shards...amazing. And the fossils are many.

Have a wonderful week!

xxoo,
Georgina

I had a beautiful skull in my garden and decided to grow seedum in it. When I returned from the nursery , with the plants the skull was gone. We live in the foothills of the cascades withvery little traffic, on acreage so who knows how this happened...

Oh Lawdy! A girl after my own heart!! I have been a rock hound & artifact hunter ever since I was 6 or 7. I can keep my eyes to the ground and search for hours. Bones, arrow heads, clay shards, rocks...all bring me great joy. The same thing goes for sea glass. I told my boyfriend (Superman) I want to go on one of those digs for precious stones or gold.

I totally love your blog. DeeeeeeeeLIGHTfuLL!!! =]
