... means SPRING is here !

The day after Valentine Day is our signal !

February 15 has arrived with its warmer sunrays and its soft and lovely end of the afternoon light.

The hens are out of their little coop and already trying to scratch away winter. The line of plant cuttings sitting in glasses of water on my kitchen's window sill are starting to root ...

Yes! OUR Spring is here!

Of course there will be more snow, probably still a few blizzards and an ice storm, but our hearts have been warmed up yesterday and in our house this special date on the calendar means there is no turning back, we are on the good way !

On my way to buy the best almond croissants in Abercorn, a village nearby, I stopped at a church sale and look at the treasures I found!

A pair of dish-washing gloves so pretty I would wear them with a flower dress to do my grocery shopping! And my all-time favorite book that I must have read about 30 times when I was about 8 years old, Les Malheurs de Sophie written by La Comtesse de Ségur, quite a strange book actually telling the story of this nasty little girl playing bad tricks on anything she could put her hand on ... Then this wonderful little Kawaii miniature desert-shaped erasers set !

And, the cherry to top the sundae, this amazing Invisible Woman Revell glue-together plastic kit that I used to dream about when I was a kid. I have always been fascinated with anatomy and these see-through characters are a favorite of mine! And I got it for 50 cents!

I just love these impromptus why-not out-the-way stops where you find marvels that seem to have been waiting for you ...

February 15 also means that it is time to announce the winner of my offerings for the One World One Heart event!

I am simply amazed at the number of bloggers who have taken the time to visit My Pink Turtle and to leave wonderful comments. I wish I could have given each of you a little prize! Of course, I am still on slow-speed internet, which means that I did not have enough time to visit everyone's blog and leave comments to but I promise that in the coming days I will get in touch with you. The response to this giveaway has been greater than I ever expected. You are the best!

And the winner is:

FLOR LARIOS, who is an incredible artist and paints the most beautiful angels and madonas you have ever seen! You have to visit her blog to feast your eyes on her art!

Flor, I know you will not believe this, I was so happy when I pulled you name out of my magician's hat!

Bravo Flor !

Come and get your prize, querida !

And to the other participants, I promise I will have another giveaway soon !

And before I forget! The auction on eBay for my Dark Angel painting is ending tonite! Don't miss it!

Oh, I always wanted one of those visible woman models. I remember those from my childhood----I guess Mom was NOT as enthused!!!
So I think, out of all your treasures, the model kit was the BEST!!! (yes, I am an anatomy-phile too)
I'm thinking that there is a site called that has cool things---run that through Google and see if you can find it!
