THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTE TO MY ART ...

I AM FLABERGASTED !

FLABERGASTED ! (don't you love how this word sounds?)

I just got an email from Cindy from La Quinta in California. She bought Frida prints in my Etsy Shop in February and wanted to tell me how much she liked them and liked my art. Particularly the one featuring Frida holding a flaming heart.

She liked it so much that ...

SHE HAD IT TATTOOED ON HER SKIN !

WOW !

I AM SPEECHLESS !

It makes my day when someone tells me how much they appreciate my paintings.

My heart flies when a person comes back for more of my art.

But to have someone have an image of mine, and one of my favorites, etched permanently on her body, is something else.

I HAVE NO WORDS FOR IT ...

I do not have a tattoo. When I was a younger punkish marginal-looking woman and tattoos were not so much in fashion, I wanted one badly. But I did not want a main-stream style one and never found the right artist to do it for me. Then, I got into a different mind-trip and my desire for it changed too. I was once approached by someone who owned a tattoo studio. He wanted me to join his team and learn the trade. But I declined his offer.

I totally understand the appeal a lot of younger people have for tattoos. And not so-young people too.

The tattoo is very well done up to the tiniest details and I am happy that the image is so-true to the original. Cindy replaced the name Diego for the name of her grand-mother in the banner.

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE !

My Frida will be showcased on a daily basis on someone's body!

WOW !

THIS IS QUITE A BUSINESS-CARD !

I am honored, Cindy!

What a lovely idea. I always wanted to get one of my art pieces of art as a tattoo on my own body. Gives me inspiration. I might do that in a few years time.

Wow, that is an ultimate compliment!I thought about getting one when I was 48, but I decided that maybe it wasn't a good idea since I was going to be a grandmother!! LOL However, my daughter got one on her hip..was a beautiful butterfly, but after 3 very big babies, her poor butterfly is now imprisoned under her stretch marks!! LOL She has a couple of music notes on her shoulder, since she is a band director in a middle school and plays the oboe. I was also thinking of getting my nose pierced up until yesterday when I saw this elderly woman at WalMart with a diamond stud on her nose! I thought that could be me in 20 years!!!!

Fantastic!! I love it!
I have a huge passion for tattoos and have lots of my own artwork tattooed on myself, i've also sold several designs to studios too, it's a great feeling knowing that someone is walking around with your art on them ;)

What a wonderful compliment! Your work is lovely, but for somebody to actually have it permanently etched on their body...is truly the sincerest form of flattery. How exciting!

WOW! I've never thought of what any of my art would look like on someone's body...lends a whole new perspective as you are painting your future pieces, doesn't it?!

wow!!! that is quite incredible! and i have to tell you that your artwork is absolutely beautiful! you have really inspired me to start painting once again. i am a mom of two and have never been able to "find the time" to paint even though i daydream about it every day... your picture of your workstation inspired me, that i carved out a space for myself and made a work area to paint. my 6 year old comes home everyday afterschool asking to see what i drew while she was away.

thank you so much for sharing your inspirational work!

Hi Lulu. Wow!! What a tribute and it came out so nice. It's almost as if you had tatooed it on her back. Wow. I think you will always remember Frida holding the flaming heart. Congratulations, all your efforts will pay off when she wears her bikini at the beach. Everyone will see your work and want to know about it. Oh la la! Have a great Sunday Lulu.
